What Is The Sante Fe Indian Market?

Hosting the 101st Santa Fe Indian Market, the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) welcomed over 100,000 visitors with over 900 artists and 400 tribes. The event was, in fact, completely sold out! Coordinator Mona Perea said that the goal of the festival is to “strive to be the best we can and am to provide a seamless opportunity for our artists to enjoy the celebration of the world’s finest American Indian art market.” Although the artwork was amazing, the opportunity to promote Native businesses in a setting like this truly demonstrates what happens when we collaborate and listen to the voices and stories of others. It is vital that consumers across the country turn to local artists and creators as it lifts up the voices and stories of communities, while also contributing to the livelihood of those who struggle the most.
