Indigenous Persons Studies Major

Are you looking to continue your education on Native American and Alaskan Native experiences? Various colleges across the nation offer an Indigenous Persons studies major or minor in order to teach about both past and present experiences of the Native People in the United States. Although most of these courses focus on working with or for indigenous tribes, one can also expect to take courses related to law as a contemporary issue for many tribes is based within the inner workings of "Indian law". Also interwoven in these courses are lessons about religion, language, and environmental justice. Many people who graduate with an Indigenous Persons Studies degree tend to pursue further degrees in many areas including law, public health, geography, environmental science, or even museum studies.
